Dear Lynd Public School Families,
On Thursday, July 30, 2020, Governor Tim Walz introduced the state plan for reopening schools for 2020-2021. School districts will open and follow procedures dependent on how many cases of the Coronavirus are present in the counties our school district touches: Lyon and Lincoln. These numbers will be updated every two weeks on the MDH website. Currently, our numbers show we are in HYBRID for PreK-8, which means all our students can return to school every day! This is possible due to our total enrollment being less than 50% of the building occupancy and because we were able to space students in our classrooms 6 feet apart.
The primary goal is for the number of Coronavirus cases to decrease in the Lyon and Lincoln counties so we can keep all of our students attending our school every day. For that to happen, we need your help! Social distancing and wearing face coverings will improve our chances of keeping our school open for in-person learning.
A District Planning Committee that consisted of Administration, Teachers, Support Staff, Board Members, and Parents have been meeting over the past two weeks to plan a safe return for our staff and students. It is our plan to approve the Return to School Plan at our August 10th School Board Meeting. A copy of that final plan will be sent to families next week.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to call us at the school. As always, we thank you for your cooperation and support!! Have a great day!!
